A Romantic Fall Wedding at Bellerive Country Club
If you follow us on Instagram you will probably recognize today’s feature wedding because I’ve shared it quite a bit since receiving the photos over the winter. But can you blame me?! The photos by Lisa Hessel Photography are SO pretty!! Cara & Joe chose a classic, neutral color palette for their October wedding ceremony at Graham Chapel and reception at Bellerive Country Club, and lush floral designs created a soft, romantic atmosphere throughout the day.
Graham Chapel at Washington University is one of the most popular and iconic ceremony locations in St. Louis. We do several weddings there each year, so we’re always looking for ways to make the space feel unique to each couple. For Cara & Joe’s ceremony, Sandra created a gorgeous floral piece to sit atop the organ, with coordinating floral swags on the candelabras flanking it. Such a beautiful way to soften the altar and create the perfect setting for their vows!
Graham Chapel is such a gorgeous space to say “I do!” I remember the first time I set up a ceremony there, I couldn’t stop looking up and staring at the stained glass windows!!
The romantic floral designs continued throughout the reception at Bellerive Country Club, starting with floral wreaths welcoming guests into the foyer and lush urns ushering them into cocktail hour. In the ballroom, we incorporated a mix of gorgeous tall floral pieces (featuring Cara’s favorite lilies), gold candelabras with flora accents at the base and low compotes to give the room depth.
Over the past year Bellerive has been renovating their clubhouse, so this was our last wedding in the “old” ballroom. The neutral white, cream and greenery arrangements complimented the space perfectly. We’re excited to see the finished renovation and plan upcoming weddings in the updated ballroom!
When wedding planning, it’s often difficult to envision how the room will transform once the lights are dimmed and the candles are lit, so I love that Lisa was able to capture the room in daylight and then again awash in romantic candlelight!
Following dinner, guest moved to a tent on the patio for dancing. Décorum decorated the tent with crystal chandeliers and vintage-inspired soft seating to bring the ballroom out to the dance floor and keep with the romantic feel of the night.
