A Dreamy Summer Wedding with Garden-Inspired Blooms at The Missouri Athletic Club
This timeless summer wedding has all the warmth and elegance of an English Garden in full bloom. We adore the Crippin daughters, and Katie's wedding was undoubtedly one of our favorites.
The day began with Katie getting ready at her childhood home with her sister, past Belli Fiori Bride Sarah, her mother Nancy, and her close friends.
Nancy wanted to welcome her daughter and all of her daughter’s amazing friends home with something special, so she asked us to create a wreath in the style of Katie's wedding flowers for the front door!
Katie was enamored with her wedding gown. It became the inspiration behind almost every detail of her big day! She shared a photo of the dress with our team early on in the planning phase, and we were able to replicate the elegance and texture in her flower arrangements and escort wall. According to Katie, the magnificent cake by De La Creme Creative Studio (which will be featured later in this blog) and Katie's wedding invitations were both inspired by the dress.
At Our Lady of the Pillar, Katie and her husband, Johnny, exchanged their vows. Because this church is such a beautiful place, we simply wanted to emphasize its splendor for their ceremony. We created two garden-style arrangements to sit on top of the gorgeous marble pedestals that flank either side of the altar. We kept the pew decorations modest with soft tufts of white hydrangea and pale blue ribbon.
I can’t get over Nancy! She is an absolute delight, and her stunning pink MOB dress was iconic!
Katie wanted to ensure that there were touches of pale blue in every designed component. She loved the blue delphinium and hydrangea, and wanted to tie this into her bridesmaids’ bouquets and floral arrangements.
It really popped against the bridesmaid dresses and the light blue table linens at the reception!
For Katie’s bouquet, we wanted to capture the same textural composition that Katie appreciated in her dress. We chose a more traditional rounded bouquet, and accentuated the garden style with with lush greenery, fragrant sweet peas, plump peonies, crisp white freesia, pink garden roses, and light blue delphinium.
Katie and Johnny’s reception at The Missouri Athletic Club was breathtaking! They placed a lot of trust in our lead designers to help select all elements of the reception decor.
Katie said it best,
“The MAC ballroom is a beautiful and grand room, and I wanted the flowers to be a big focus. With Lisa and her team's help, they made my dreams come true. The head table was filled with gorgeous arrangements on elevated pedestals and the guest tables were a mix of high and low arrangements. Lisa and her team included beautiful candle arrangements in addition to really make the flowers come to life. All of the gold elements also added to my elegant vision. I still dream about the arrangements at the head table.”
“Even though it's been a year, there are many times where I think back to our wedding day and have to pinch myself because it truly was a dream come true. Lisa and her team made my vision come to life! It exceeded my expectations!”
Thank you Katie, for the kind words!
Thank you, Katie and Johnny for letting us share in your special day, and congratulations on your one-year wedding anniversary!
