A Festive Winter Wedding at Silver Oaks Chateau
You’re going to want to put on some Christmas music and pour a mug of hot chocolate before we dive into today’s feature wedding!
Sara & Kendrith were married last December in a traditional church ceremony followed by a festive reception at Silver Oaks Chateau. The couple chose to embrace the season in their wedding theme by incorporating evergreen, gold and cranberry tones, and lots of wintery touches. Sara and her mother-in-law Tracy even collected pinecones (some the size of my head!) and birch logs which we incorporated throughout the day.
For the ceremony at Manchester United Methodist Church, we created pew décor with evergreen swags and the giant pinecones to accent the main aisle. These paired perfectly with the festive Christmas décor of the church, where even the red carpet fit the theme of the day (which rarely happens!) The couple chose to forgo a first look, and I love the photos of Kendrith seeing Sara for the first time as she walked down the aisle with her dad!
Often when brides select a “winter wonderland” wedding theme they chose a cool palette of white, silver and dusty blue/grey, but Sara wanted a much warmer look. Silver Oaks Chateau provided the perfect setting for the reception; with its warm, slightly rustic décor the space perfectly fit Sara’s sparkling winter wonderland vision and beautifully complemented the gold, cranberry and evergreen color palette!
The ballroom featured a mix of table and centerpiece styles, where we incorporated the pinecones and birch Sara and Tracy collected with floral and greenery. Instead of doing tall floral pieces, Sara selected flocked branches to give height to the space, which added the perfect wintery touch to the warm room. When it came time to discuss cake décor, our lead designer Sandra took the reigns and created the most gorgeous wreath and accents to complement the four-tier cake by McArthur’s Bakery.
