A Modern Winter Wedding at The Four Seasons St. Louis
If you have spent much time looking through our portfolio or blog posts, you might have noticed that we don’t really stick to one design style. Our team prides itself on being able to bring our clients’ visions to life, no matter what that vision might be. From traditional and romantic to sleek and modern, we love it all! I think it helps that each member of our team has a different personal style, so we are able to collaborate and come up with new ideas no matter what our clients are looking for! Lisa loves soft, romantic designs, Sandra loves anything bold, sparkly or out of the box and Kim prefers organic, boho designs. When it came time to design Abi & Jason’s winter wedding, Lisa and Sandra combined their design aesthetics to create a unique, modern ceremony and reception in collaboration with our dear friend Simcha of Simcha’s Events!
Because the ceremony and reception would both be taking place in the Four Seasons ballroom, the goal was to create two unique looks; the ceremony would be light and airy, while the reception would be darker and dramatic. For the ceremony, Abi envisioned a romantic chuppah adorned in white orchids. Her inspiration photo was a suspended structure, but since this would be difficult to achieve with the high ceilings in the ballroom and the logistics of a room flip, we created a similar look with our clear acrylic structure as a base. Once we covered it in orchids and suspended blossoms in front of the legs, the structure itself melted away and the effect was stunning!
Following the heartfelt ceremony, guests moved into the pre-function space to enjoy cocktails while the vendor team sprang into action. The chuppah and stage were removed, and guest tables moved into place. We worked with Simcha to create a floor plan that incorporated a mix of long feasting tables and round guest tables, and she chose a beautiful combination of linens that added warmth, depth and drama to the room. Lisa and Sandra created four different centerpiece designs incorporating orchids, mini callas, and candles everywhere. The most unique design was a linear arrangement incorporating a gold branch and draping orchids; Abi wanted unique and modern and Sandra delivered with something we hadn’t done before! The room was a dramatic combination of modern and romantic elements, and we couldn’t be more thrilled with how everything came together!
A huge thank you to Simcha for bringing us onto the team for this beautiful event, and to Abi & Jason for letting us bring their wedding vision to life!
