An Intimate Micro Wedding at The Jewel Box and Seven Gables Inn
Weddings looked a little different for most of 2020, but aside from the initial lockdown last spring they never stopped! At Belli Fiori, we went from designing our two largest weddings ever at the beginning of the year, to helping our clients reimagine their wedding days into elopements and micro weddings with only a handful of guests. While some of our couples decided to completely pivot their day to a smaller version of the original plan, others chose to host intimate affairs on their wedding date, and move the big party to 2021.
Kristen & Chris were planning a large wedding at the St. Louis Art Museum over Labor Day Weekend when the pandemic hit, but as time went on it became apparent their wedding day couldn’t move forward as planned. After making the difficult decision to postpone, the couple worked with the team at Cosmopolitan Events to plan an small celebration with their closest family and friends on their original wedding date. The Jewel Box in Forest Park set the stage for the intimate ceremony, followed by a reception in the charming courtyard of the Seven Gables Inn in Clayton.
While postponing is never fun, we do love that we get to work with this sweet couple for an extra year, and can’t wait to bring their original version to life at their big wedding this fall!
I love mismatched bridesmaids dresses, especially this mix of white styles Kristen’s bridesmaids rocked! Each bridesmaid’s personality got to shine, and the white dresses pop against the men’s navy suits. It’s such a fun, fresh look and perfect for a micro wedding!
The color palette and flowers for the day were kept from the original design, but we changed the styles of arrangements to make the micro wedding unique. Kristen’s bouquet will be a completely different design for the large wedding this September!
Is there a more iconic St. Louis ceremony location than The Jewel Box?!
Face masks have become a staple over the past year, and while they might not be the ideal wedding day accessory, the can still look chic! If your ceremony venue requires masks for the wedding party, order coordinated ones for your bridesmaids, groomsmen and family members so that they don’t become distracting in photos.
The Seven Gables Inn courtyard provided a cozy setting for Chris & Kristen’s dinner reception. We designed low centerpieces in a lush garden style to decorate the guest tables, and Abigail Christine Designs created the most adorable custom napkins in a variety of floral prints to add a special touch to the place settings! Unique design elements like this aren’t always in the budget for large events, but are a great way to make a micro wedding feel just as special as the big wedding day.
Artist Matthew Miller created a custom painting of the reception while guests enjoyed dinner, cocktails, and dessert (sign me up for wedding cheesecake and s’mores!)
How magical is this courtyard?! Such a perfect space for an intimate reception!
We can’t wait to celebrate with these two (and their awesome vendor team) again this year!
