A Modern Cinderella Styled Shoot at the Coronado
Styled shoots are always fun because they allow us to experiment with ideas and generally go a little over the top with our designs! Today’s featured styled shoot was actually never meant to happen, but I’m so glad it did because it resulted in this dramatic ceremony backdrop and stunning head table! I know we’re all sick of the term “pivot”, but if there’s one thing the wedding industry learned last year, it’s that we’re all really good at pivoting, and sometimes the best designs come from a changed plan – like this gorgeous photo shoot!
Belli Fiori kicked off 2020 with a winter wonderland wedding, and had so many more beautiful events planned with amazing clients throughout the year! But just days after creating our biggest designs ever, the world shut down and we were left wondering what the rest of the year would hold. We aren’t good at sitting still around here, so pretty quickly the wheels started turning and we began talking about all those projects we never had time for, like a brand film! It was an idea that had been bounced around off and on since we launched our new website and logo, but never had the time to execute. But suddenly we had all sorts of time, so we began brainstorming and reached out to Claire Forrest Films with our ideas.
Claire not only does beautiful wedding photography and videography, but she also creates amazing brand films for many other types of businesses (including her own swimwear line!) so she had lots of great ideas for us. The original plan was to shoot some footage in our studio, and then the rest would be done on site at several different weddings throughout the second half of the year. Spoiler alert: it didn’t happen that way.
As the year went on weddings kept getting scaled back or pushed into 2021, and while we were able to get some great footage at our micro weddings, most of the dramatic table designs and ceremony setups we planned to include weren’t happening, so we decided it was time for a styled shoot! If you’re curious about what happens when weddings are all but cancelled for a year and floral designers have lots of pent up creative energy, this shoot is it! Lisa and Sandra created an over-the-top ceremony and head table fit for a modern day Cinderella. The design is bursting with flowers, sparkle and the romantic style Belli Fiori is known for. The beautiful Coronado set the stage for our shoot, and Town & Country Bridal provided a gorgeous gown for our Cinderella! The entire design was straight out of a fairytale.
We chose to set our ceremony in The Coronado’s main ballroom, which allowed us to create this dramatic, exaggerated backdrop bursting with roses and greenery. It reminds me a bit of that stunning archway at Princess Beatrice’s intimate wedding last year!
No styled shoot is complete without a fabulous tablescape, so we went all out with a table set in the front room of the Coronado to capture that beautiful natural light. This would be the perfect space to hold an intimate rehearsal dinner or micro wedding!
Lisa chose a fabulous silver sequin linen as the base of our table design, and then pulled in a variety of mixed metals with candles and vases, and a mirrored runner to add depth. Each place setting included a petite floral arrangement to finish the look. Elaborate touches like this are perfect for intimate dinners!
It’s no secret that Sandra LOVES a dramatic bouquet, so of course she went all out with this stunning cascade!
We had so much fun creating this shoot, and are SO thrilled with the final brand film!! A huge thank you to Claire for working with us to bring this idea to life. It’s even better than we imagined!
