A Colorful Rooftop Micro Wedding at the Chase Park Plaza
It’s no secret that 2020 was a rough year for wedding planning! Couples were thrown for a loop time and time again as restrictions were set in place, changed and changed again. Brynn & Alex were planning a June 6th wedding when the initial lockdown happened, putting them just outside of when event restrictions were supposed to lift. They immediately began working on a backup plan, and decided to move the wedding to a date in the fall. However, as September neared it became clear that their large wedding wouldn’t be taking place as planned in the Starlight Room at the Chase Park Plaza. Despite all the uncertainty, changes and frustration caused by the pandemic, Brynn & Alex took everything in stride and moved forward with a new plan that may not be what they initially envisioned, but turned out to be perfect.
With a guest list cut by more than half, the dinner portion of their now micro-wedding was moved to the rooftop terrace off the Zodiac Room. I’m pretty sure this was a first for the Chase, but I’m betting there will be more intimate dinners out there now! Decorum provided café lights and farmhouse tables, and Lisa reimagined the centerpieces and sweetheart table to fit the new layout. The result was a beautiful al fresco dinner overlooking Forest Park and the Central West End!
Throughout the extended planning process Brynn chose to change her color palette. Burgundy tones were swapped for bright pinks, coral and peach that popped perfectly against the emerald green bridesmaids dresses, and set a fun tone for the reception!
Smaller guest counts meant room to play with “extra” flowers for our 2020 couples. This sweetheart table overflowing with blooms and Forest Park in the background was one of my favorite designs from the year!
Brynn & Alex, thank you for being the absolute sweetest couple to work with through the craziness that was last year. We know you didn’t have the wedding you envisioned, but everything turned out beautifully and we are so glad to have been a part of your day!!
