Two Sisters, Two Extraordinary Weddings
A blog to celebrate sisters
In celebration of National Sister’s Day on August 6th, we thought it fitting to feature the weddings of two of Belli Fiori’s beloved sisters- Tierney and Paige.
Tierney and Paige hosted each of their wedding celebrations at their family home in Ladue, roughly a year a part. Yet each sister made very distinctive choices about her big day including the time of year and style of their nuptials!
Tierney was married first. Her wedding was a colorful soiree during the height of summer!
While she did not originally plan to harness the power of pink, Tierney’s wedding would put Barbie to shame. Her ceremony and reception design were complete with colorful florals, a blush wedding dress and ombre pink ceremony arch.
For her cocktail hour, Tierney hosted her guests over the family pool. Her decor was complete with a custom cocktail bar and unique floral arrangements.
“We both covered the pool in plexiglass turning it into the cocktail hour and dance floor for mine and the ceremony and dance floor for [Paige’s wedding].”
For her reception, Tierney’s guests continued to bask in the glory of the summer sun while safely sheltered in an air conditioned tent.
A bold table linen and robust hanging installation were the ideal assets for this fashionable head table.
Each element of Tierney’s guest tables was unique. Tierney’s wedding was a combination of roses, tulips and her very favorite, luscious peonies. With all of the bouquets created solely with peonies, we carried that love of peonies into the guest table centerpieces as well. One of my favorite designs was the gold eternity hoop which worked perfectly on the long guest tables. Peonies anchor the base of the design while tulips add a fun and flirty flair. With the use of a bold table linen, we tamed the florals used by placing sweet blossoms in white bud vases. The piece de ’resistance were the tall centerpieces that was an ombre reflection of the fantasy ceremony structure.
Tierney’s bright, bold, colorful wedding was a tribute to the warmth of the summer’s rays! Now, let’s take a stroll into Paige’s dreamy winter wedding.
Paige’s theme focused on an enchanted woodland fairytale in the heart of winter. Her guest experience began immediately with a stunning entryway draped in crisp white fabric, greenery and holiday lights.
As with Tierney, Paige used the pool as a key space for her wedding celebration. Instead of hosting her cocktail hour over the pool, Paige chose to say her vows in an ambient, romantic ceremony setup over the pool. A mirrored runner was applied over the plexiglass to create a highly reflective aisle that mimicked an ice palace.
Paige’s celebration continued in a “hunting lodge" style cocktail hour. The lodge boasted a masculine aesthetic with chandeliers made from antlers, cowhide accents and plush leather seating. The team at Belli Fiori, added candlelight and floral accents to enhance the woodsy charm.
For the reception, guests dined in a massive tent complete with four pergolas, two live trees and a small dance floor that would serve as centerstage for Paige’s first dance.
The two massive trees on either side of the dining tent were surrounded by circular guest tables. Since it was the middle of winter, neither of the trees had leaves, so you may be wondering how our team turned the naked branches into a luscious leafy-green tree. Well, that’s the magic of Belli Fiori. We can make the impossible, possible!
Other key design choices that Paige made, along with her planner- a.companie- were two styles of chargers, mixed tables including some with linens and some made of refined wood. Paige also created the signage for all of the day of details through her company, Designs by P.
Paige’s after-party was an all out rock-n-roll disco over the pool— thanks to a stunning room transformation from ceremony to after-party.
When I asked Paige and Tierney about any traditions they shared on their wedding day, Tierney stated,
“We both performed at our wedding. I just danced on stage for a good hour or two with the band with no real skill or talent, while Paige… put on a show-stopping performance of her favorite song, Downtown by Macklemore. It was one of my favorite moments of her wedding being able to cheer her on alongside her husband Jacob at the foot of the stage as she killed it on stage!”
We loved working with Paige and Tierney, both sisters had their own unique vision and style for their wedding celebrations. Yet, it was amazing to see the love and excitement they both shared for one another during the planning process and throughout their beautiful celebrations.
